The Divorce Source

The Divorce Source is a community hub for divorced women and women in the process of divorce. Kusasa Information Systems were approached to create a new website for this amazing blog and Hydra were called in to assist by building a new, more cohesive, logo and brand image which would appeal to the core demographic or divorcees.
In creating this brand identity we looked for inspiration from real divorcees and tried to understand the issues commonly faced by women who may be divorced already or going through a divorce. The subject is a sensitive one, and the purpose of the blog is to help these women cope with this burden. As such it was very important that the visual representation for the brand reinforce the idea of moving forward without overlooking the obvious the emotional weight of the experience.
While going through several revisions we finally presented the logo pictured here which uses a band-aid over a broken heart to represent the healing process after a divorce and the purpose of the blog and brand. The use of vibrant colours help to illustrate that while the ordeal may be a painful one there is support, optimism and life after a divorce.
